Dear Colleagues
ESRA – Hellas goes to Regions in the Periphery of Greek Territory!
As part of the Educational Activities of ESRA – Hellas, in centres of peripheral regions in Greece, already involved in Regional Anaesthesia or interested in its development, ESRA Hellas organized the 1st ONE – DAY REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA WORKSHOP, in cooperation with the Department of Anaesthesiology of the University of Ioannina.
The Workshop took place with 8 hours of Intensive Training by 6 Experienced Instructors. During the Workshop, 30 Anaesthesiologists were taught and introduced into the Basic Techniques of Nerve Blockade of Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity and Trunk. Although the Training Program was tight, highly concentrated and extremely demanding, instructors were impressed by the strong motivation of Trainees. The Comprehensive Assessment, Review and Evaluation through Questionnaires of the trainees was very flattering. More specifically, they evaluated and rated the seminar as follows (mean with maximum of 5): Theoretical and Practical Issues 4.58 / 5, Organization 4.79 / 5, Venue – Training Halls 4.625 / 5, Maintenance of Schedule 4.83 / 5. When asked “Has the Seminar covered your Expectations?” they rated it with 4.58 / 5, whereas in the question “Would you recommend the Seminar to Others?” they replied with 4.78 / 5.
Considering the above, the Board of ESRA – Hellas needs to especially thank the Director of the Anaesthesiology Department of University of Ioannina, Professor George Papadopoulos, for the hospitality in the hospital premises, the Assistant Professor Elena Arnaoutoglou for cooperation in jointly organizing the seminar, and all those who contributed to the success of this project.
After the success of the first DAILY REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA WORKSHOP, the ESRA Hellas Directory Board believes that education in the Periphery is highly efficient and intends to continue this activity, bringing education to the non – central regions of Greece, in order to provide opportunities for Greek colleagues working there, also taking into account the difficult economic situation of our time.
With Collegial Greetings
The Board of ESRA Hellas
