ESRA Hellas is the Greek Section (Zone of Greece and Cyprus) of European Society of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy – ESRA

It was founded in 2008 according to the articles included in the new constitution of ESRA.

Its goals are:

  • promotion of ESRA Goals in Greece, always in close and smooth cooperation with ESRA Europe
  • to associate and affiliate into one organization all anaesthesiologists, physicians and other scientists in the broad greek territory, who are engaged in, or interested in, the techniques of Regional Anaesthesia for Surgery, Obstetrics, and Pain Therapy
  • to encourage specialization and research in these areas
  • to promote and sponsor courses and workshops to disseminate
  • to promote information on regional anaesthetic procedures
  • to encourage the teaching of regional anaesthetic procedures in all anaesthesiology training programs
  • to edit and publish articles in these and related subjects
  • to develop and further the knowledge of safe techniques for providing surgical and obstetrical anaesthesia with local anaesthetic agents and for producing diagnostic and therapeutic blocks with local and lytic agents for the management of pain
